Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken San Diego
offers fried chicken, chicken strips, chicken nuggets,
gizzards, shrimp, and fish with a variety of other southern
style takeout dishes. Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken is part
of a national chain, but has the feel of a family-run,
neighborhood chicken stand. The restaurant is mainly a
to-go-only establishment but there are outdoor tables
available for dining.
ON THE MENU:
Try the
authentic southern style gumbo. The menu also includes a
variety of southern sides such as dirty rice, fried okra,
collared greens, red beans, corn bread, mashed potatoes &
gravy, French fries, Cajun chili fries, coleslaw, macaroni
salad and, or course, corn. Desserts included cheesecake,
pecan pie, sweet potato pie, red velvet cake and lemon cake.
Don't forget the
Red Sauce!
We opted for the Family Pack
dinner that included 12 pieces of chicken, 2 sides and 6
rolls. The dinner was appealing to the eye with its red spiced
color and was delicious when dipped in the
signature Cajun tartar sauce or spicy "Red Sauce".
The two sides we tried were ones you don't find in this part
of the country much... fried okra and dirty rice, both of
which brought fond memories of visits to the south. |
